Oh okayz, thanks for the info Terryz_! Will keep that in mind. :) Was quoted around 4 to 5k for a custom built tank(Tank + Sump + Cabinet + Basic Equipment). Is that expensive? :unsure:

What kinda basic equipments??? All the "made in China" equipments? Then not worth it. You may end up changing them anyway. Wow 4K to 5K is quite a lot! How big the tank?... I am expecting my custom tank to cost around 1.5K... perhaps I need to rethink, lol. But I will reuse most of my equipments except the lighting units.

Just to add to bro Terryz comments... using better quality glass is important because larger tank = thicker glass... so the diff can be pretty obvious... I wanna see colours... true colours :rolleyes:

Hrmz....its a 5ft tank with custom build cabinet, didnt really ask in detail as they were pretty busy. But i would guess basic equipment means a skimmer, all the pumps, chiller, mh, cr, fr. Maybe they are charging for setting up too. Any inputs on realiable tankmakers would be appreciated! :peace:

Hehe I know who quoted you that price... if it includes a chiller for a 5 footer... then maybe ok la... u need them to help set up? Em... for me, setting up is the fun part. What u planning to do with your current tank? Sell it to me, lol. :)

I am still sourcing for a pro, reliable crafter... will let u know if I manage to find one in Singapore... hopefully I do not end up importing a tank from Germany, lol.

Wah, you seem to be spying on my every move. Haha. Might let them install the equipments and after that i'll do the scaping and other stuff myself. Doubt you'll want my tank, its not really built for marine aquariums.... You and your German craze! Im sure you'll be able to find someone good enough to make your tank in SG. Btw, Golden Octo's tanks are made in Germany, the artificial LRs are made in Germany too.... :lol:

Actually the effect is quite cool... if you can gather all the light loving corals to that spot... the dark areas can be mushrooms and blah... very unique lighting experience :heh:
