SRC Member subxero Posted January 5, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 5, 2006 I have this problem before, but not with macro skimmer. It is could be due to pump choke with dirt particle or air intake tube choke.

SRC Member Volitan Posted January 6, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 6, 2006 I have this problem before, but not with macro skimmer. It is could be due to pump choke with dirt particle or air intake tube choke. Likely cause is the air intake got choked by crystallised salt. Clear the airway and try again. SRC Member thc Posted January 6, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 6, 2006 pinwheel attached to the impeller maybe broken....the impeller is spinning but the pinwheel ain't...seen a few cases leow.. Take out the impeller assembly and hold on to the pinwheel, than turn the magnet portion. If it can turn 360 degrees, it's time to change the pump. If it doesn't, check the air in-let, like others have mentioned....

SRC Member ozy Posted January 6, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 6, 2006 I have the same problem when I was using the skimmer. The connection between the air hose and the pump sometimes have salt, calcium biult up and it choke the air intake. Just remove the attachment and clear the hole and it should skim fine after that.
