new marine setup

Recommended Posts

Shrimps are quite sensitive to water parameters and require careful acclimatisation.

Since your tank is only 2 weeks old, I think it had not fully cycled yet so you might want to wait a little longer before you add inverts

But if you tame me, we shall need each other.

LOL..

he said he converted his planted tank to a marine tank..

zzz..

any yes..of cos he knows that LFS brings in the shrimps when stock comes in..

common sense..

only he does not know where to get it

these shrimps can be commonly found in LFS in singapore..

iwarna have loads of them..big medium and small

most of the LFS carries them imho(in my honest opinion)

ya,actually what i meant was if the width of the tank is enuf, usally fresh water tanks are 5-6mm or even thinner.Like what i used to have.

Yes i know that he knows that it the LFS should have it when stock comes in.Thats why i was telling him indirectly to wait till the new stock come in.Farmart also have loads of them. ^_^

Do take note of what I said about shrimps being sensitive

I've got friends whose shrimp died immediately when added into the tank

shrimps require proper aclimatisation when introducing it into ur tank be it mature anot...

1st.. the temperature shld be adjusted by jus floating the bag of shrimps in ur main tank...

2nd.. mix 50/50 of ur tank water and the water inside the plastic...leave it be in a small pail for at LEAST 10mins for it to slow get aclimatise...

3rd.. intro the shrimps into ur main tank completely without any water from the pail and be sure to release it someplace near a piece of LR...in case the fella got shock..

Thanks for the advise. My tank is 10mm thick, I guess this would be ok, right ?

I'll check it out with Iwarna, where is this LFS?

10mm is more than sufficient for a 2.5ft tank.

Iwarna is situated in Pasir Ris Farmway 3. When you're coming from the TPE, at the traffic junction, you'll see the UMC plant on your left. At the traffic junction, turn left into Pasir Ris Farmway 3. After getting onto Farmway 3, you'll have to turn right and drive in all the way. Drive past all the Dog & Pet shops and you'll locate Iwarna on your right. ;)
