There's not much difference in price for colored ones. Infact I think clear is cheaper than colored. I think. SRC Member Ian Posted October 17, 2003 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 17, 2003 Bum you can hang it on your main tank or your sump. Both is the same. SRC Member ZeRoC00l Posted October 19, 2003 SRC Member Share Posted October 19, 2003 Read from some where that it is not safe to have a CO2 or any cylingder that contains compressed gas in liquid form to be stored horizontally. The cylinder has to be placed standing and secured so that it can't be toppled down for safety. Just something to note.

The cylinder has to be placed standing and secured so that it can't be toppled down for safety. Just something to note. I don't think that is correct. IME, as a diver using compressed air in a cylinder. It is safe to put the cylinder vertical or horizontal. I think it is safer to put it horizontal. If you put it vertical, you must ensure that the cylinder does not fall and break the valve thus making it into a fatal rocket. Usually we tied our cylinder with an elastic string to the pillar thus prevent it from falling. If you put it horizontal, make sure it doesn't roll all over the place. That applies on a boat. But in your cabinet, it shouldn't roll unless there is an earthquake.
SRC Member Ian Posted October 20, 2003 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 20, 2003 Actually I got the idea from a number of websites to place the co2 in that manner. It saves space. I made a holder to support the co2 nicely. Thanks for your comments.
