My Diy Sump

As many of you know my tank had a system crash . And now I got a chance to redo my whole system the way I like .

My sump and Refugium is made with 6mm acrylic. On the left is the refugium and the right is the sump. My return pump is located out side the sump and it feeds regulated water to the refugium and the rest to the display tank. My skimmer and calcium reactor will be running on another pump in the sump. All the connections have union coupling, some with a ball valve attached.

I've just done a full water test and it works great with no leakages. Now I just have to wait for my overflow box to complete so I can run the system.

This is my return pump located outside the tank with 2 union cuppling with ball valve tap.

Ummm.. looks gorgeous.

And the last pic is 2 25mm ball valve tap where the water come in from the overflow box. The compartment is sealed of with a cover and 4 screws to prevent splashes. Once the system is running I'll be placing covers in every compartment in the sump to reduce the splashing and the noice.

I believe u do customization for a sump 2 other than I-box. Hw much are u charging for the sump if we were to use the design. I having a 3ft tank. Can I use the same concept?

hermit - Don't worry dude I will answer your question You are right, acrylic does cost alot. Espically compared to glass.

Remember guys, the reason for me to post my DIY sump (like my other DIY projects) is to share my design and to try to answer any question you may have. At least reefers out there will have more ideas on sump designs.
