SRC Member colinsoon Posted January 4, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 4, 2006 IMO, or even its just my preference, i rather the rocks that come with everything, even with crabs and some creepy crawlies dat i have been observing scooting around the bottom of my tank... makes it a lil more interesting and exciting to observe the tank... anyway, for FOWLR tanks, why is it that LR must be cured? blueheaven
cyberpig: killing the rocks can be as easy as placing them in water for a few days colinsoon: The reason why it is better to use dead rocks is that firstly, the nuisance crabs, mantis shrimp or pistol shrimp would not be able to harm the fishes. And considering that FOWLR tanks usually have a higher level of nutrient due to the large quantity of fishes, you do not want an algae bloom. Quote But if you tame me, we shall need each other. SRC Member Reefbum Posted January 4, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 4, 2006 This hobby is like having a car. The more money and time spent on it makes the tank look great. If not, it is just like a car that takes you from point A to point B with the frequent breakdowns in between.
