SRC Member cityofangels Posted January 20, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 20, 2006 Is it true that it can take up to a month for the star polyps to fully open? I bought mine on Tuesday (17th) and only a few polyps (less than 10) are opened. And I change my water regularly (once every 2 weeks). Do I still need to add additives like Iodide & strontium despite the regular water chages?
SRC Member Maxstar81 Posted January 21, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 21, 2006 cityofangels, Sis, depends on how much is absorbed. This means testing. Back to SP. I love them & so far they never close. I have also stopped dosing my tank. They don't eat. When newly accquired, they do feed as they might have been starved at the LFS or watever reasons.... After a wk or 2, they dun react to dosing. I think the lights are enuff... I still try to dose like 1 a wk just in case. My tank have 2 different types. Can click on my link below 2 see. Thinking of getting more.
