Red Hair Algae

Recommended Posts

Hair algae, red or green.... will be a nuisance as they tend to break off and smother your corals, gorgonians and seafans as they will cling and grow over them.

They are also unsightly and taste horrible as very few fishes are known to eat them.

Just siphon it out lah. My situation last time was worse becos I went on biz trip for a week and then came back and all my live rocks etc all kena covered. Even my sand also hv with bubbles underneath the algae even yuck. I actually took out the rocks one by one to power spray and scrub it off. For those growing on side of my my corals , I used a small hose and suck the stuff out.

In the end, need to get rid of teh cause of prob which is getting water quality back up. Usual stuff- no overfeeding , chk lightings etc etc.
