SRC Member tigershark Posted December 30, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 30, 2005 me using a chiller and fan, set chiller at 27 deg celcius and using a 0.18A 80mm DC fan, evaporation rate depends on whether I closed the door (humid air cant get out, less evoporation), room temp (high temp encourage more evaporation)... usually its between 1~3 litres... SRC Member Derek0925 Posted December 30, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 30, 2005 i m running a 4ft tank using fan. Need to top up half a pail daily....but i deem that is a good sign anyway. That's means the fan is useful in bringing down the temperature

SRC Member shawncel Posted December 31, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 31, 2005 Previously when I was running 3 fans on my 4' x 2' x 2' tank, the evaporation rate was high. I had to top-up water twice a day (abt 1 gallon each time). So I got a tubby which makes life easier. Now with chiller, only need to top-up abt 0.5 gal every 3 to 4 days.
