SRC Member Cardinal Tetra Posted December 18, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 18, 2005 I've been thinking of downgrading from my 3ft tank to a 1ft nano. I have an old set of 2x36W PL lights which I would use for the tank. The tank's dimensions are 14"x9"x10" Another question: is there a 36W PL tube with half white and blue available in the market? elimmel
72w shouldn't be a problem... my 24G has 144w PL. you should be able to get 50/50 tubes from petmart

elimmel
done it before... no problems. there are pple using 70w mh for pico tanks if you're worried, just on 1 tube followed by both tubes after a few days. if things are not to your liking, you can always off the 2nd tube. I'm more concerned about the diatoms outbreak over such intense lighting.
hammy
other than the diatom, the heat problem could be an issue .
