SRC Member Volitan Posted December 18, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 18, 2005 Looks like 10% change for most reefers. Any specific why? For me 1 bucket is approx 10%, that's why 10%.
atos
It depends, it is individual , every system has it is own characteristik. Some one may need weekly chamges 30-40%(imo, nigh Nittrates, silicates, phosphates), one may not need even 10 % monthly if the system is helthy, no measurable elements mention above. SRC Member Alvin Tan Posted December 18, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 18, 2005 i find tt 10% wld be sufficent fortnightly for those who are using saltmix w/o a DI unit....it will result in increase of po4 n a slight increase in no3....tts y i perform water change as little as possible to avoid po4 outbreak... my 2 cents...HTH Quote view my 2ft tank thread update here!! http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36399 Tank Dimension: 24'x15'x19' with black silicon. SRC Member Maxstar81 Posted December 19, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 19, 2005 My 2ft tank holds about 84L. I change 6L every wk. Its actually like only 7% but i voted as 10%. Wkly change is cos i only use wool fiter. I also need wash the wool wkly. Quite tiring. Hm, will have 2 get a skimmer soon.

SRC Member May&Bruce Posted December 20, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted December 20, 2005 seems like 10% per fortnight is a good 'average'. For me it is simply that I have three large pails of 22 litres each and a 600 litre tank, so mixcing 3 pails a fortnight is not too strenuous (i am out of town every other week, so I can not change water weekly, and dare not ask wifey to do it while I am away....
