Is there a head quarters for reefclub where can hold meetings,display

DIY do-together projet,seminars,demostration for beginners etc.

If there's no such thing why not make one.

My idea only hor,no need to flame at me.

i doubt thee will be a strong enough participation to need that.

i think we are doin well the way we are. we have our gatherings for our workshops at various venues.

this, www, is our HQ, =) its good... hehe...

give talks to newbies. Say a

thread for them to register &

once reach 10 then meet for

the talk.

Well, someting like a mini version

of our mushies propagation wksp loh.

Another thing is that since we are

all over the tiny singapore map,

maybe can hook up some newbies

to the seniors in their zone. Then can

bring them to LFS & intro to shop & LS.

(better than kana chop like carrot or lose LS due to inexperience)

This can really help newbies

& boost our numbers.

For my part, I dun mind conducting

beach combing at Pasir Ris !

Human resource wont be a problem as there are lot of volunteers here,douring their free time can go over to the HQ to help answer other's questions.

Make something like a "SG REEF SHOP" can sell corals,fishes and also have car decals and membership cards which include and deposit fee and a renuwal every 6 months.i mean it would become an buisness,at the same time our mods can work in an office.Why not rent a shop space.

And also they can have the SWOP SHOP there in a corner.

EG. personA want to SWOP with personB,they dun need to arrange for meeting times.personA can leave the items at a particular place ,ment for it. And person B can collect it at his possible time and pay the rent amount to the swop shop keeper.

We can also have a marine adoptions corner,where ppl want to go adopt fishes.They also have to impose a fee before adoptions since the keeper as been taking care of it.

So there are many ways we can fund the shop...

We can also have weekly JUMBLE sales where ppl can place their items for sale.....ofcourse,impose a small fee before placing.Or they can team up and pay for their fee.

Most of us just wanna relax after work

by staring at our tank and not go down

to HQ and part time.

In that thread, you can read about all the problems about this idea.

To go about with your proposals would mean that SRC has to be registered as a Company.

Think far young man..

Volunteers doesn't mean they willing to spend their free time tending to reef shops.

Most of the reefers here got their own jobs and livelihood.. who will want to maintain and invest in a shop which will initally and eventually be low on profits?

Even our LFS are finding profits hard to come by already

I will say u have alot of ideas.. but think of the feasibility..

Even if it works in the beginning, the enthusiam will eventually die down.. then left who to tend shop??

Its just an IDEA guys.....thanks for your reviews.Im not saying you work for free,neither am i going to set up a HQ now.Voulnteers can help around teaching others if they want to do s0 only.Maybe i grow up i start this.

We had so much talk but no action. We had many shops offer to become a 'meeting place' for SRC members.

Actually, all the LFS are already like meeting places for SG reefers!

Also 'No money also no talk'... maybe one day when I strike Toto then I can buy a property to build a physical clubhouse and hire staff to run it.

In the meantime... lets dream together!
