Algae !?

They are everywhere.

Out of control .....

My mushies are losing space to them.

Advice/ help will be appreciated.

I have a turbo but dunno if he eats

all types or only selected types only....

get those turbo snails, they are mainly actively at night.

reborn sells them at $! cheap cheap...lol...

i got 4 of them in my tank, takes care of most of the algae.

try to use DI/RO water , or run rowa

I Personally recommend 4-5 turbo snails, and shorter photoperiod if possible

My tank gets 16-18 hours of non stop light.

Too much yah i know. Haven't get timer lah.

the green ones I doubt snails will help.. try sea hare but these look a bit like macro algae leh...

The long green ones i not worried but its those

short ones and the brown SB which i'm more

concerned over. Are they what U folks call diatoms !?

(i dun like sea hares....)

Personally I recommend the hungry algae bleenie. But must be selective though.

Algae growth is stimulated by high phosphate levels. Perhaps, you would like to try something to remove the phosphate in your water. At the moment, I am using Seachem Seagel. It is a mixture of Seachem Matrix Carbon and Phosgard. The carbon removes the yellow tinge in the water and the phosgard, well, removes phosphate.

I've been using this for a month already and the algae growth has slowed dramatically.

I only wanna get rid of the brown. The greens look kinda nice

& peaceful. Will the Seachem Seagel stop both !?

If you drain some of your tank water in a white bucket, you'll soon find out the 'true colour' of your water.

And I think my tank water had that yellow tinge because I did not use to do regular water changes.
