Hi me newbie got a few qn to ask all the guru's here about md40 that I just bought for my beckett.

1. I want to place the md40 above my sump mounting it on the wall of my cabinet because of space constraint, is it advisable to do this.

2. How do i siphon the pump in order not to dry start because its going to be 1.5ft above water level.

3. Will this reduce the efficiency of the pump and therefore affecting the full potential of the skimmer.

Hope to get advise from all the guru's here and :thanks: in advance.

Hi sis I managed to siphon the md using my overflow pipe but another easy way is to use another pump directing it to the hose or piping going into the md, wait till is fully fill up then on the md.

I hope you understand wha i am trying to explain :peace:

1)Connect md 40 to a pipe that leads to the sump

2)Connect another tubing to the md40 outlet and give it a LOVE KISS... (suck it)

srry, bit vulgar.

3)Now the MD40 will be filled with H2O then..connect the tubing to the BECKETT..

then fire up..

4) Observe if there any bubbles, if no... repeat step 2-3.

if still cannot...give me a call then

I am just an average FR (fish reefing) writer. If you like my FRs, please upz my points.
