This is a simple, inexpensive and yet invaluable DIY for DI water purification.

What impresses me most is your unselfish spirit of sharing with fellow reefers. With ppl like you and others in SRC it help to make this hobby much more affordable.

Keep up with your DIY innovations. That's what makes the hobby challenging and interesting.:idea:

Keep up with this spirit of sharing!!!:bow:

Thanks for the good words, cyclops - i was impressed with the reefcentral DIY forum. I do not know why ppl would not want to share their ideas....anyway I am happy to.

A lot of ppl have been asking me where to get the DI resin. I get it from my company, who in turn gets it from Scottscentre in Tuas (do a google search and you can find the address). But, I do not know whether they will sell small quantities directly to us reefers. When I am back from hols (in Jan) I will check this out more with Scottscentre. If they will not sell small amounts directly, I might look into buying a larger quantity and then sharing it with fellow reefers - will keep you all posted!

Real reefs don't have glass bottoms....(...think about it)

Hi May&Bruce,

Was wondering if there are any devt regarding small qty supply of your DI resin from Scottscentre? Lost my reasonably cheap supply of DW recently cos the store no longer orders it anymore. :cry2: Other retail DI resins exhaust too fast & cost too much in comparison.

Hi all reefers,

I have checked with Scottscentre. They do sell DI resins in plastic bags and it cost $18/-. They are getting back on the amount though...(ie how much of resin for $18/-)

I also found out this PJM company selling resin refills for $35/-.

check out the website for the resins and the whole DI as well.

Anyone interested of a mass DIY session of what our kind bro has shared with us? If there is we might even reduce the cost in making it as it should be cheaper if we buy items in bulk?

Thanks again to bro bruce for sharing this wonderful cost saving DIY piece

I work near WEST COASt and i always drive up to TUAS area..If u brother want, maybe we can try to DIY together...

Me can get those STuff... its complicated but with May&Bruce instruction, no DIY is difficult...

But one question, will the resin "leak" out and into the water..

I am just an average FR (fish reefing) writer. If you like my FRs, please upz my points.
