What is a sand dollar?

Hi all,

I bought 2 sand dollar from ML recently. One 2" and 1" size. Anyway after having them in my tank for about 3 days to my horror I saw my Hermit crab eating up the 2" sand dollar The 1" sand dollar is also MIA...

Does anyone else here have hermit crab and sand dollar in the same tank without this problem?

dunno about water conditions mine 1 up lorry become ornament but 2 still digging around.. so think its luck of the draw

This type of hermit may attack fishes ..or ur sand dollar... becareful...

Geezzzz.. Dont tell me he's the culprit for my missing blue eyed anthias and some other small fishes...

Ya these hermit crab can grow up to 4 inches. not reef safe.

They may attack small fishes and tubeworms - well anything that is slow or not moving
