I've a lobster about 3in long. Wonder will it harm the fishes?

It all depends on what species of lobster you have, and what type of fish you have.

Not too sure abt the loster. It's purple/blue in colour.

Fishes, i've chromis at the moment and intent to get some tangs.

Tell you what.......put the lobster in a separate tank and wait for the stock market to go up.(guess you have seen the commercial)

Sounds like a Spiny blue lobster...

If it is then should be quite safe... it's a scavenger, won't bring harm to healthy, swimming fishes.

Fish safe. Kept a 2-3 inch one with gobies before without any problems. Their appendages are developed for scavenging purposes and not for active hunting. Not exactly reef safe as their long antennas can easily irritate corals. Mine had the unusual habit of scratching its back on yellow star polyps.

That devil killed a blue tang at night while poor dory was sleeping!

Some of my zoo actually drop on the sandbed, dunno whether is it due to the lobster.
