I am about to do a DIY DI water system. I have access to 'mixed bed' DI resin, which is what the system will use. But, the are different specs/types of DI resin. Can anyone tell me anything about any special requirements for specifying DI resin?

Atos, I am planning probably a three stage system:

1. particulate prefilter - to get rid of dirt and other particles

2. activated carbob - to remove chlorine

3. mixed bed DI resin

I believe

Strong base anion resin and

Strong acid cation resin(hydrogen form) would be the choice for ur mixedbed resins.

nitrate and silica mostly removed by the anion resins. :peace:

ok...i bought all the bits today, so guess what i will be doing tmr night and Sat?

Prices as follows:

3 x filter housings - clear plastic @$26 = S$78

1 x 5 micron sedminet filter cartridge (came with the housings)

1 x Granular Activated Carbon cartridge S$21

1 x 3.5 litre bag of mixed bed Di resin S$45 (will be enough for 2 or 3 fills)

Joiner hose fittings all came with the housings, so no extra costs.

Total price is S$144, which includes spare sediment filter and enough DI resin to do 2 x refills.

:D
