Hi bros,

just curious, is a chiller really needed in a nano tank? or can i actually maintain the temp of the tank with the help of 1-2 pc fans?

Then your specific gravity would go for a roller coaster ride.

Most probably you would need a container or smth to drip freshwater.

it really depends on what u keeping..

if u are keeping fish only with live rock FOWLR.. u dun need chiller or even fan..

actually read somewhere tat the higher temperature might even help to kill off or prevent some parasite

i would skip the idea of using a fan if possible..

what i experience the last time i used a fan to chill my nano was that some of the water evaporated with salt and crystalised all over my tank equipments and i have swings of salinity..

and fans are pretty noisy..if ur placing it in a place where u need to enjoy peace then i wont really recommend the fan..

a second option would be the ice-probe =)

An alternative to fan.

Warning: Dun use it if U cannot tolerate the noise.

U might want to buy super quite fan for PCs instead.

It's doesn't matter whether u got chiller....small tank tend to cool off faster....But dun try those expensive coral.....
