nice fabrication! Just make sure u coat that steel with many many layers of marine grade epoxy paint.. it'll rust in no time near ur salt water tank..

Wow I think you are the first I seen to DIY a stand with metal.. most of us just use wood coz it's easier to machine...

still need to protect... stainless steel will still rust over time... but I think he knows what he's doing lah...

i only use mild steel. Grade 316 stainless steel was too expensive. the stand had spray with lot of layer of PU paint and plywood cover over it.WITH POST PIC LATER OF TIME.

diy sump in process....., had all the glass cut and grind to dimension, and mod up the spacing i desire

ok. here i using plywood to support the glass and i cut a step to prevent the silicon from stick to it.

all the glasses had silicon on it and left to cure......waiting n waiting..

then turn over to glue the next side. note weight is needed to press th glass down.

after the silicone is left to cure over night. Is time to clean up the silicon that had dry up.
