Believe it or not. My 1st tank.

This is the little container which i bring along

to the beach to hold my assortment of sea life.

I comb the beach everyday at low tide for a whole

month during my off & leave before i ORD.

F. Graosidae, Metopograpsus

My 1st obsession. It has purple claws.

It keeps itself just above water levels.

It climbs mangrove trees too.

Next up, we have Red Eyed Reef Crab.

Nasty atitude. This fella is the size of my fist.

The prettiest crab so far &

it has a very interesting name:

Moon Crab. This fella swims and

buries itself under the sand bed.

This baby moon crab is sadly missing an eye stalk.

Fiddlers. The most common crabs visitors

to the beach will get to see. Enlarged claw are only

owned by the male of the species. Heh heh ....

Fiddlers are Uca Annulipes.

This fella is its cousin, named

Uca Vocans. Nice colouration.

Even bigger claw

Not true crab but we all know them.

Hermit crabs.

Shrimps!

Piston shrimps to be precise.

About 10 cm long.

Its called a mantis shrimp.

I initially called it alien prawn....

Mudskipper.

The small version.

Those at the mangrove are huge.

Unknown fish.

Kept about 8 of them.

Reminds me of those U see in

Wisma basement.

Currently still in tank.

6 of them working as cleaners for my SB.

No lah. Just sharing my beginings.

Some i've release after a few days,

some died in captivity,

some still existing in tank.

After the history lesson, i'll post tank

pics. I wan all my pics to be consolidated into 1 thread.

Hate this fish.... Reason being !?

It eats other fishes.

Used to love this banded bead anemone....

Untill it swallowed my fire goby.

Used my camel shrimps to get rid of 2 and starved the

oldest one still it came out of its hole. Release it back at beach.

Didn't die. I very eco friendly hoh !?

Hi BroMaxstar81!

Weeks back, i caught 2 crabs at the beach as well.

I wasnt so sure what species it was. Now that i see

from your thread, it's the moon crab. lol. I kept 2 in

my QT and one has died since. It's such a funny crab isnt it.

It seems to have 2 sets of flippers (For swimming) 1 in the front

and 1 at the back. Beach combing is indeed a fun thing to do.

Never know what creature we encounter. Nice thread!!
