Wavebox defective?

Hi,

I recently got hold of a brand new tunze wavebox.

Upon installation I found that the bottom plate of the wavebox is not close fitting. As much as I tried, there is still this 2 mm gap at the bottom. There is no locking mechanism that will hold the base plate firmly.

Is this normal and typical of all the wavebox?

Honestly speaking, for something that cost close to S$700, I am a little disappointed at make of the device. After all the hype, I was expecting something of a precisely engineered product. I am particular about the gap because I believe the device will no longer be efficient as stray water flow will be escaping the box from this gap.

Thanks tineng, you mean yours only have a top cover plate? mine set has a removable bottom plate as well, and it is this plate that is not closing properly.

I will try to get a pic up tonight.

hehehhe....can't remeber if mine had a bottom plate....maybe will check when i go home tonight....but seems to me logically, that the bottom plate should close nicely....this is becuase wavebox works on the concept of water filling up and empting from the box rapidly...pretty much like a surge device....if bottom plate doesn't close, don't think you can ever get any wave.....

Tunze products are usually quite well made and they last ....most often its the confusion of their use (espeically with there manuals) the drives people crazy....

can you believe they even sell instructional video.....tells you how good their manual is....
