Hi Guys I'm coming back into Marine again after my last tank crashed... I've learnt from my past mistakes, am slightly more prepared then the last time... but I'm still learning... This time round I've setup 2 2ft Nanos...

The first tank was supposed to be an inverts only tank, but my GF likes small fishes so I just have to add more fishes and inverts...

Current Livestock:

1 Ocellaris Clownfish

1 Sebae Clownfish (if I'm not wrong)

1 Firefish

1 Red Scooter Blenny

2 Fire shrimps

1 Camel shrimp

1 Boxer

3 Tubeworms

Marine Plants:

Ulva & Chaeto

Equipments:

1 Airstone Skimmer

1 Hang on back filter

2ft Atnic blue and white lights

Right side of the tank

RtMarineShrimpTank.thumb.jpg

Left side of the tank (yes that's a driftwood, so far so good no yellowing of water)

LeftMarineShrimpTank.thumb.jpg

I think my skimmer is not skimming enough, izzit suppose to collect alot of water?

AirStoneSkimmer.thumb.jpg

Waterflow from the hang on back filter

Can't get a clearer pic of the nemos but I'm sure u can tell which is which... so is my Sebae a Sebae or Clarki?

Is this Chaeto?

Is this Ulva?

Overall tank shot of my Inverts + a few fish only tank

OverallMarineShrimpTank.thumb.jpg

Can anyone ID this eel from the other 2ft Predatory fish only tank?

ZebraEel.thumb.jpg

This is my Marine tank setup side... note the Planted 4ft tank on top... I plan to convert it into a 4ft Marine setup soon, was gonna use the tank on the bottom right (which is currently my 2ft Marine Predatory fish only tank) as a sump for the 4ft tank, was thinking of using the space where the stand alone fan is now as more space for any other equipments, was thinking maybe putting a shelve there... any advise wld be greatly appreciated...

i think u need more LR in ur 2footer.. and do get a good skimmer for it.. =)

Thanks for looking Prec... regarding the LR, was thinking of getting Zoos and maybe a small Anemone for the Nemos... heard from Uncle of Reborn that there'll be a shipment of Zoos coming in on Thurs so gonna go down to take a look ;) Any reasonable skimmer to recommend for a 2ft nano? Was thinking of getting a Red Sea Prizm hang on back ###### skimmer but its abt $190... might have to wait till I get my bonus before investing somemore on better equipments

Interesting to see freshwater driftwood used here. Like to see this driftwood over time.

But the scaping is uniquely yours. Still very fresh water in mind, I felt.

Problems I see:

1. Careful on the clowns, the false might soon be attack by the Sabae.

2. The airstone skimmer is overflowing, bring it higher or lower the air bubble.

3. Did you on the lights? Looks dim from the pix. May be probem if you wants to keep anemone or zoo. Need T5 at least.

Good start anyway, and welcome back.

Equipment:

30G Corner Tank with 10G Sump, 2 x 24W artinic T5, 1 x 24W 10K, 1x 24W 20K, 3" Grade 0 sand & Live rocks, Activated Carbon, Bio-home, 2 x Seio M620, Hailea 1/2HP Chiller, Redsea Pro Skimmer

Live Stock:

Turbo Snail x 1, Green Mandarin Dragonet X 2, Blue Tang X 2, True percular x 2, 1 x Algae Bleenie, Clarke clown x 2

Reef:

1 x 2" Blue maxima, Red/Brown/Purple Mushroom (Discosoma), Pink Ricordea yuma, A little colony Brown/Green common Zoanthus, Red/Pink/Green US Zoanthus, Eagle-eye Zoathus, 14 Branch Goniopora Pandoraensis, 1 Starburst Polyps, 3 + 2 Branch Frogspawn, 4 Blasto, palythoa, Cheato

RIPs (Since June 2005):

1. Sabae clown (KO by Clarke clown) 2. 1 branch melted frogspawn 4 branch 3. Golden maxima (Ripe the base off rock by me) 4. Algae Bleenie x 2 (Starvation) 5. Blue Maxima x 1, 2 x Maxima, 1 x frogspawn, rics (Overtemp...)

Old 30G Corner Tank.

Restarted 30G Corner Tank.

Yap contemplated on using a driftwood as I wanna give it a diff look...

But the scaping is uniquely yours. Still very fresh water in mind, I felt.

Do agree with ya on the freshwater look, but still have found any nice corals to add, was thinking of getting sponges, seafans, zoos and maybe a clam or two... spotted this nice blue seafan at Jireh just now... :P

Problems I see:

1. Careful on the clowns, the false might soon be attack by the Sabae.

Would getting them anemones help? <_<

2. The airstone skimmer is overflowing, bring it higher or lower the air bubble.

Yap will do just that ;)

3. Did you on the lights? Looks dim from the pix. May be probem if you wants to keep anemone or zoo. Need T5 at least.

Yap the lights are actually T5 :P

Good start anyway, and welcome back.

Thanks bro, still have lots to learn B)

seafans - Strong flow and lots of phyto - careful

clam - MH at least - very difficult - not recommended

Would getting them anemones help?  <_<

Yours is a 2 ft, so no it will not help.

Good luck and good nite.

That looks like a clarkii to me, not sebae

U may not to observe those clowns, not necessary will fight

I have 2 true percs and 2 maroons in my 2 footer too.. so far so good

u can try throw in a couple of anemones at both ends of the tank to try separating the clowns, but whether they stay at a fixed spot hard to say. And whether they choose to host diff anemones or fight over same one?

It may be difficult for u to keep clams.. they require strong lighting

I using same skimmer as u. So far so good too.

Project R.E.

Main Tank: 48" x 18" x 24" 12mm with external overflow piping

Sump Tank: 28" x 14.5" x 12" (3 compartments)

Lightings: T5 HO - Hopar 3* 39w + ATI 2* 54w

Skimmer: Skimz Bullet Beckett

Chiller: Resun CL-650 (28 - 29 °C)

Wavemakers: 2* Seio M620 + 1* Hydor K2 (7100 litre / hr)

Fluidized Reactor: Skimz FR (currently empty)

Pumps: 1x Rio 32HF (Skimmer), 1x Rio 20HF (Return & Chiller)

Filtration: more than 80kg LRs, chaeto

Water Circulation: ~ 4000 litre / hr

Future Plans: additional wavemaker, DIY algae scrubber, DIY overflow box

Previously:

Project R : 36" x 12" x 24" 10mm reef

Yap I've seen ur tank pics if I rem correctly... was very inspired by the very basic equipment but yet very nice corals u've...

Will adding a PLL help for a clam, as I've a few of them lying around...

Oh ya forgot to add... I think my other nemo is more of a clarki den a sebae as its rounder compared to a sebae...

Added a rock of "Hairy Mushies" (that's wat the LFS aunty claim it is, but it looks like normal green mushies to me  ) and an anemone shrimp... couldn't decide whether or not to add 1 or 2 anemone... hmmmm

i love those different look too :P but driftwood will release tannic acid. they will also cause yellowish water and lower your tank pH :)

ok den I'll monitor closely and see how it goes thanks for the advice ;)

Too heavily stocked IMO, should half it, unless you want to do at least 20% wafer change every 5 days....

hmmm I've been diligently changing water every week, a lesson learnt from previous tank crash, gonna get a much better skimmer too hope it helps...
