Qn on copper

Need to tap the experts out there. If a fish only tank has copper added before, if it is cleaned and water changed, can the tank be used to keep corals? Any method or chemcial for cleaning? Thanks!

have you tried testing for copper levels with a Cu test kit? Maybe the levels are so low that it will not be a problem

Heard that activated carbon can remove it.

This was recommended by one of the lfs after I added medication to my tank some time back. Care to share what else can we do to remove the copper? Thanks.

Some chemicals will soak into silicon (E.g methylene blue) and be released slowly over time. Not sure if it will apply to copper but it's best to get a new tank or avoid keeping inverts in the tank.

think safer to get a test kit... copper has pretty gd staying power.....
