Iwaki MX 70 or 100 if you have so many T-offs.

How about Red Dragon or OR? :)

OR is not pressure rated.

RD is probably powerful enuff. Go for it.

Cannot lah, Red Dragon and OR not pressure rated.

Using it for on a beckett with such high head is asking for trouble.

If I were you, I may used a dedicated Iwaki MD55 for the beckett so as to get the optimum result. And a not pressure rated flow pumps (Sequence, RD, OR etc) for the others.

HTH ;)

Agree with what Gouldian said. For the beckett choose dedicated pressure rated pump and have another pump for return and chiller.

You can calculate headloss using this: http://www.reefcentral.com/calc/hlc2.php

Hope the info helps.

48x30x27' Tank. Beckett Skimmer. Deltec PF600s. RM FR Pro. DE 250Wx2. DE T5 39Wx4. Tunze 7095+6000x2. Sequence DART pumps x2 (1 return+1chiller)

Hi,

I suppose you would need to get two pumps for your case. One to run the skimmer and another to run the return and chiller.

I doubt you can run all three on one pump. That is because the skimmer works on gravity(water flows out) it does not work on pressure(water dosen't pump out) So not enough strength to pump water up to the main tank.

Therefore, I suggest you get two pumps. Eheim would be good. Pressure rated and saves electricity.

So? Anyone can help? :)

Another way is to ditch the beckett and get a needlewheel.

Then you may possibilty of have one pump for 3 applications. ;)

how do you have 1 pump for 3 applications when using needle wheel...??? Unless you talking about using it as feeding pump?? But how you going to control the flow rate when sharing it..??

Anyway no matter how when come to skimmer. It is still a thumb of rule not to share out your skimmer pump. ;)

Hi Alan,

I did mentioned "Possibility".

I understand where you coming from, in the sense that water that feeds to the skimmer must be direct from the overflow seperate from the return. Thus not possible to share the same.

When I mentioned 3 applications, I meant 1 return T-off to FR, Chiller and Tank. I do believe that Needlewheel are able to take gravity feed from overflow without going thru a pump.

We were just trying to explore the different possibilities available to nemo72.

If you think you have better idea, please enlighten us. :D

Hope that I am not accused of misleading new reefers again! :(

Any one can recommend any pump that is solid. I wan to get a pump just to run my return+chiller+beckett. Suggestions? Any brand? Any model? Thanks.. :)

If one pump were to be tee to chiller, return and skimmer.Have you considered about maintenance? In an event that you want to shut down the return,Skimming can be compromised for a period of time but not chiller.what about the water temperature in the main tank?Min 2 pumps, skimmer+return.Chiller on isolated pump.

My 2 cents ;)
