SRC Member Frosflame Posted January 3, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted January 3, 2006 Is it better to change water using saltmix or NSW from the LFS? The trace elements found in slat mixes should be more complete than NSW right? We don't know what the NSW was used for or where it came from and how old it is. bukitimah
Got to change water one meh? (joking lah, heard about it after I started the hobby otherwise wouldn't have start at all). I just started about a month ago, yet to change anything. The tank look great and fishes and LR is great too. I think I will do a 5% change every month for starter. If the quality of the water is right, I think can last longer. Key to it, don't over feed but to feed many times as little as possible? LS less LR more. Add more crabs and shrimps. Not sure my theory works????
SRC Member chrislwp Posted September 3, 2006 SRC Member Share Posted September 3, 2006 Just changed today, about 25%. My last water change was Nov05... Quote Tank 4x2x2.
SRC Member Guinness Posted March 5, 2007 SRC Member Share Posted March 5, 2007 Oh dear, u guys (and gals) are making me feel guilty. I am one of the 'once in 3 months' group. But then I think another factor to take in is the size of tank. And also the inhabitants of the tank. My 5' x 2' x 2.5' is 1x in 3 months. Been surviving well for erm.... cannot remember how long liao. FOWLR + a few commando corals. I have a smaller 2' x 1.5' which requires more frequent changes. About 1x per month.
