MH problem

Hello All,

My 1.5 yrs old Atman (150w dbl ended) MH today have some problem. When it was switch on, it lights up nicely. Then after a few mins latter, it just fickers and dies off. Since my light is on timmer, i leave it alone and then after abt 5 mins it comes on again. But then after a few mins it ficker and die off again. May I know any body have such experience before?

I just change my bulb today to a new BLV 10K which i got from another kind reefer. Pls help

Did you try using your old bulb and see if it has the same problem. If not it might be a faulty new bulb. Check the specs of your old bulb and the new bulb. They might be of different watts.

If yes than maybe its the ballast

Thanks. I think I got a faulty bulb. As my old bulb can be fire up (and remain on) with no issue. I will get it replaced. Thanks alot.

my Atmah MH150 got this problem.. The plastic cover on the sides cracked open and exposing the wires.. Wah really scary. Not one site but both site... and no choice but to procure a powerful Aqualight with 2*250 and 1*150 MH from Monster1975

btw... Atman mh uses very thin wiring...please play safe and change a mh...anyway one good mh from the diy gurus here not that exp in view of the good service and safety issues

tigger, the fault may be the connectors (rx7). This had been discuss a few times on this forum regarding the Atman MH.

Check your old bulb and see if there are carbon built up at both ends? and also the RX7 holder?

This reduce the contact and that is the reason why it cant fire...
