Hi,

In order to reduce heat generated by pump, thought of using eheim 1250 as return and place it outside of sump instead of in the water.

Is it safe to do that? is this pump design to work without submerging in water? will the pump get too hot and start to burn?

Can experienced reefers pls advice.

:thanks:

my md55 is connected thru a hose in the sump. so for priming i just turn the hose up side down and fill it up with a lil cup.

once you see the water lvl has gone beyond the pump slightly, simultaneously dunk the hose back in the sump and flick on the switch.
