Disturbing The Sandbed...

Hi,

Realise that when I disturb the sandbed, a lot of debris comes out from the sandbed. Sometimes I siphoned these debris when changing water, but the water becomes blur as a result. Someone once told me that it's not advisable to do this as the debris are not healthy for the fishes. Can someone confirm this statement? :thanks:

hmmm will increase nitrates if u stir up the sandbed...

errr not sure if its nitrates or something else.. anyway, it's not advisable ;)

Well basically its ok to siphon off the detritus on the sand. Here i m referring to the first 1 cm or so only lah. No pt stirring it all the way to the base.... doesnt really serve any purpose rite?
