SRC Member ervine Posted October 28, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted October 28, 2005 Hi guys, I've had this particular bubble for like 2+ years, then about a month ago it suddenly began to shrink and portions of it began to melt away until I finally gave up hope on any chance of recovery yesterday... All other corals (including a bubble right next to it) are perfectly fine and doing well... water params normal Any idea what happened? Thanks! FuEl
Added new corals during this time? Melting away sounds like brown jelly disease, which often infects newly imported corals. Not sure if it is infectious between different coral species though. HMMMmm.. there could have been some LFS tank water added in when I added some LS but no new corals though... it does SOUND like brown jelly disease because the bubbles really started to look like brown jelly before finally disintegrating.. sphinx
hope you have not given up on it. Have a bubble fist size with 3 mouth on it. started to melt away without any reason and no addition of live stock(fish/coral) after about half have melted and the other half still struggling(about 3 weeks) it started to heal and those half which have melted some flesh on side healed and form new mouth.... nothing had been done like most having massive h20 change or addictive as most live stock in tank is at least 2 years old and all are healthy except the bubble. Now got extra baby bubble hope yours will heal soon
