SRC Member tineng Posted October 24, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted October 24, 2005 i have done a 5G in my office.....biggest problem is sal. and temparature (at the coldest it gets to be 21 degree and over weekend when no aircon, its 30 degress).....especially when you are not in the office for and extended period of time....come back from holiday and you are greeted with smell of decay..... I kept zoo, mushies and a pair of clown....total disaster....after 6 months of trying gave up....

Any bros here done it??? Intent to keep mushies and zoo plus 2 maroon. Also lightings also a problem as I intent it to be a 22 cm by 22 cm... temp fluctuation will be the biggest problem for an office tank. also, not advisable to keep 2 maroons in a 2G tank. maybe just a shrimp and 1 small goby? SRC Member nakazoru Posted October 24, 2005 Author SRC Member Share Posted October 24, 2005 Hmmm, it does really make sense for the temp fluctuation... Okay, I use to have a 1 ft tank and lots of incident, especially power failure, otherwise LS and coral okay. Okay, normally temp is at 26 -28 deg, our office. Weekend w/o aircond may go to 30 deg. So the problem lies with being too cold, I guess I add a heater to regulate temp at 28 deg. You think it works??? elimmel
for a tank that size, i can only think of clip on lights. can get from ikea, nature aquarium or if you are near tampines mall, you can check out the new shop at B1. they are selling some small cube tanks and clip on lights. SRC Member Jenson Posted November 3, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted November 3, 2005 Water changes should be a concern also. Currently i have a 3 Gal nano runnig for 6 mths, nvr dare to show as i kept a pair of seahorses, a peculiar clown in it together with brain, blastos, zoos. I have been doing weekly water changes religiously over the past 6 mths. I feel tt it is absolutely necessary and easy for such small volumes of water change. (Maybe thatz what ur GF have to do on her part) So best of luck in your plan and I'm sure she would to happy to have such a sweet BF
