Lumenarcs + phoenix 14k

as above, do u think this is a good combination?

coz 14k really brings the flourescence and the lumenarc makes e light really bright..

anyone have any specs on the intesity of the diff bulb types? remember seeing it somewhere but cant find now...

I tot the phoenix only comes in double ended and the lumenarcs only take SE bulbs. If the configuration you proposed is available, I also interested...

Lumenarcs are going to be available for DE soon as weileong said in another thread

But the heat issues of the lumenarcs cannot be underestimated. I have read that the heat produced, if not vented or blown by a fan, can actually raise a room from its normal temperature of an average 26 degrees to 30+ degrees.

Venting would be difficult to set up and fans might mean more plugs needed.

I've also seen tanks with lumenarcs running Hamilton 14k and it looks rather nice

As for the part on heating the ambient temp, I believe there should be no difference compared to using other reflectors.

Same goes for heating up the tank too.

He was running 2x250W before that and then upgraded to 3x250W + ballast that drives the bulbs harder.

Obviously the later gives out more heat.
