Hi guys...i hava snail in my tank now...still wondering what does it do...

what are the pros and cons in keeping snails.....thanks :D:unsure:

They eat algae of course!! :lol:

Only cons I can think of is that they are like nitrate bombs when they die, especially at a place where you can't reach

Bigger the snail, bigger the bomb :lol:

wa liao.....scared later nitrate bomb kill all my fishes.....everytime

see the snail now very scared.....die also nvrmind but die can also kill others...phew.....when the bomb explode what should i do??

It's not that serious as compared to a sea apple

I've got around 20 moonsnails and 20 euplica scripta in my tank :lol:

Don't worry too much the snails dying, quite hardy fellows. Depending on their mood, they'll help to eat algae from the glass & on the sand.

In fact, now recuriting more for more for my cleaning crew :D

My current ones are getting lazy....

no leh... i seem to have an attrition rate.. every few months like 1-2 snails dissapear..

OH yes!...it is enjoying like hell...cleaning up my glass..save me time...hehehe

depend on what snails you keep.

Most are microalgae and bacteria consumers.

Some like macroalgae too.

if you have a sick or dying corals, they may somehow "shopping" there too.

some other bad snails can be snail-eater (snail-ear-snail).
