how to choose LR ???

Going to buy Live rock soon.

In the market there are few type of LR

tonga, fuji and etc

some of them up to S$16 17

some shop selling LR as low as S$5 only

(all by KG)

what is so big different?

i heard different story from all shop

not sure which is true

smell the live rock. a good live rock should smell like the sea. fresh and not having any rotting smell.

rocks shld be covered slightly with coralline algae (purplish to reddish in color)

the fuji are more porus and will be better but the main thing is that u like it , a lot of brothers selling live rock here why dun take a look save a lot and also if lucky can get tonga or fuji rocks just my 2 cents

it doesn't matter if they are dead or alive...

prob if u are very serious in the hobby.... u will nuke them further one when u got uncontrolable pest problems....

important thing must remember is... porus... scaping..... get good flat rocks...

best is can find rocks that are big, flat and light....

becuz too porus... inside empty shell actually...

SERIOUS!!! can find rocks like that one.... since u paying for weight... i think better wad this way...

actually i get most of my rocks from the bros in SRC. its so much cheaper can cut cost to get better equipments

i agree with getting lighter and flatter rocks ,good for scaping.

or u can go coral farm get.... big pieces.... all about same price one.... one or two dollar plus minus....

purple.... is just coralline algae.... something easy to boost when u add kalk and blast the blue lighting....
