Sump

Greetings to all

I m hving a 5x2x2.5 tank. Planing my sump at 5x1.5x1.5. Ever read in an article (Mele..forgot the name) that I can plan my sump as such. 1st chamber (water in n protein skimmer is) then a 10" bubble trap .. then another chamber (my return pump). After that I plan for 2 chamber with higher buffle of 15"(1 for refugim n 1 empty). My tank maker told me that the water with even out all at 15" high. Is this true? Of course, the water is run in by a T-joint pipe with one side controlled. Is this design OK? Pls help n thanks.
