Does that means 50% of #0 and #1? Any brand to recommend?

Most LFS's sand don't have brand. Packed in nylon guni bag. #0 and #1 refer to the size of grain, the bigger number the larger the grain. Those got brand one are arogonite substrate I think. Never use and never try and don't know so much about it. Expert pls advice about these substrate.

Some quote I got from saltwater.about.com.

=========

There are many types of sand to choose from on the market, but sand of coral origin, such as coral sand, reef sand, crushed coral, or aragonite are best. One top choice of many expert aquarists is aragonite by CaribSea. Sand sources other than aragonite types will most likely have silicates in them, which is something you do not want in your aquarium. Silicates cause algae problems, and once introduced are next to impossible to remove.

================

It is true that other type of the sand other that aragonite will have this silicates that is impossible to remove?

What type does you guys use?
