Hi guys,

Im asking this cause im able to source a good, cheap, strong (3x1watts led) moonlight.

This set can be double sided tape to your fixture, mount on a hood etc....some pics i took with the led on...

It also can be hook up to a few sets....

Pics showing 2 sets

1set (3x1watts led) with adapter is slightly above sgd20. All hook up. Issit cheap?

double side tape is good.. but if the lights are too hot, will it melt the tape?.. causing it to be unstable?

I made my LED moonlight for S$12.50 but I have 30 LEDs. ;)

But mine "died" because I didn't cover it properly. The metal contacts corroded. :( One thing I don't like about the LEDs is that each LED light is focused to a spot. I would like to find some opaque material that "spreads" / diffuses the light to a larger area.

Any ideas?

DE, I personally believe that moonlights does, in a way, stimulate reproduction in certain corals.

However, I don't see the need for adding as many moonlights as possible (like what some had done) as we might as well use an actinic tube right?

I dont think the camera can pick up much. The LEDs will create a very dim glow, so you can barely make out the fish and stuff. If it lights up the whole place, then its as good as regular FLs or T5s. Too glaring and distracting.
