RAV-65
They are zoos. Zoos???? definitely look more like aitapsias to me... try toughing it with a pair of tongs or something, see if it retracts inwards.... I'm pretty certain they look like aitapsias... SRC Member riot Posted October 18, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted October 18, 2005 I dunno about you guys, but from the pix they look like yellow polyps to me. Are the tentacles long? Maybe a closer pix will clear the air.

SRC Member ozy Posted October 18, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted October 18, 2005 Actually, they are yellow polyps, and from what I read online, they seems to be related to aitapsias. So I guess they are not zoos.
SRC Member zarkon Posted October 18, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted October 18, 2005 Throw in a copperband. If it's there it's not aitapsias.
SRC Member cityofangels Posted October 20, 2005 SRC Member Share Posted October 20, 2005 I was reading this website and found something which looks really similar to what you have. Hitchhikers Guide Go to the above webpage and scroll down until you see COLONIAL HYDROIDS. It's in the first Quarter of the webpage. Hope it helps! FuEl
Those are pretty much harmless. Common name is yellow star polyp. Does'nt harm fish. If you feed them enough (with golden pearls, rotifers, etc) they get very attractive and will begin spreading by splitting.
