Hi guys

Previously there is a thread on where to get the replacement PH probe, and I think it is lost, do a search and nothing pop up. Can someone advised where to get the probe and also what is the estimated price? I believe all the probe are using BNC connector, so does that mean that those probe that I get will be compatiable with the different brand of monitor? Please advised, thanks.

by the way , what kind of monitor are you using? Yes , usually the connections are basically all the same and I get mine from SXX LXXX for $8X.XX or so as I'm using the Americanmarine pin-point brand. Probes shouldn't be more then $1XX.XX as they need to be replaced every 2 years of so. :D hope that helps. ;)

tks, mmhhh. $80+ for a probe is definetly expensive. The last time I see someone posted was about $40+ for the probe at Sim Lim Tower, I just need to confirm again which shop exactly it is. You know what, at $80+, I would add in a bit more cash and get a brand new Taiwan PH monitor set, just a thought :D

Should have thought of the cleaner, now my entire lower portion of the probe is cover with coraline algae <_< and I think I have damaged the probe while trying to scrab away the coraline algae.

Clowntrigger,

I'm also getting a probe. Will appreciate it if you can let me know when you managed to find the exact shop at SLT. Maybe we can go together and get bulk discount. hehe.... :)

:thanks:

if you want to prolong the life of yr pH probe, dont leave it in yr tank.

Test the pH, take out the probe, rinse it with freshwater and soak it in potassium chloride for storage.

I think distilled water would be more advisable to rinse in as the probes are very sensitive. It should not be left dry in any case and as next reading will be not be accurate enough. Remember to clean your probes every 2 weeks and you won't be stuck with problems later on. ;) Happy probe buying :D
