I just bought a anemone. Why my clown fishes do swim and go near this anemone?

Sorry I don't get you. :( Try to take another photo of your anemone. Use macro mode and flash if necessary.

That's what I thought - but if I switch on the actinic lights, the anemone has neon yellow colouration.

The point is... is this a bubble tip anemone or something else? Please advise. Thanks.

hi , guess u are new to anemones ... after my tragic RTBA was nuked in my pump , i have decided not to keep one .

saw some false percular swimming . it's like a preference . if it dun like the 'home', it will not live in it . it's like a tikam game . give ur clown some time to get use to the home .

anyway ur anemones look bleached . read somewhere that there is no such thing as white one , maybe only maybe with proper care and lighting , u might nurse it back to the brown colour one .

placed it in high lighting area, and maintain temp preferably around 27degree with moderate flow .

just an advice , clown dun really need anemone, however with one is interesting but do take care as having one anemone is like having a bomb . watch out for the pump ,if it show signs of stress or dying soon , remove it asap. :peace:

2 Questions,

a) when you meant feeding it - do I drop the cut-up prawninto the centre of the anemone - where there is "hole" the mouth right?

B) when you meant "bleached" - I am aware that you need light for the anemone - because of the "algae" growing in them - question is normally sunlight (diffused since the main tank is in the balcony) sufficient by itself. I normally switch on the lights awhile in the evening but is that sufficient?

a) Right.

B) Sunlight itself is not enuf as it is only availabe at a certain time. Light cycle is normally 12 hrs, give and take.

I re-started this tank since National Day 2005 (bought the tank+live rocks 2nd hand) so that makes 3 months. But got a 5inch goby and a black cucumber which keeps the sand very clean. ?? It that okay?

Ok, will take advise - turn on the light more often - (waste electricity - utility bill already very high - I guess all reefers' problems right?)

Ok Thanks for all advise.
