Guys;

My blenny really starving now, clear all diatom with 2 snail. Now it is even gazing glass and sand. Really poor thing. :(

Should I feed it some spirulina?? What if it stops gazing algae after that??

Any experience to share?

I even stop cleaning tank glass so that it have something to gaze... But it did a lousy job as mouth not even.

hm.. my algae blenny just eats flakes man... occassionally it'll peck at algae but I believe his main diet consists of prepared fish food...

This my second one for 1 month, watch this silly fellow for 15 mins gazing in LFS. Always gazing... Bought it and never seems to stop gazing in my tank. I have never seen it eating any flakes that I fed the other fishes.

that's good... but I suppose it won't starve lah... fishes don't need that much to go by anyways... u might not be able to see the algae but it's probably there..

no need to worry till u start to see it lose weight I guess...

Yah man...I got one that starve himself to dead aft he finish all e algae...Not interested in any fd tat i feed...Even herny food mix he oso not interested...

Sigh... :(

Worst will be when I complete my T5 light set replacement, expected by this friday. The algae will grow even slower with the new lights... 2 actinic, 1 10K and 1 20K

Maybe I go cultivate diatom to feed him... :sick:

Yeah.. I'm too embarrassed abt my algae blenny. :paiseh: Its damn fat, ever since I started feeding my fishes Formula 1 & 2 pellets.

It used to feed on the algae growing in my tank, on the rocks, glass etc. But now, it decided to feast on the pellets instead. So I guess it should not be called an algae blenny now, since it's no longer doing the job. Just fat blenny. :P

I bought my seaweed from a fellow reefer and he told me that those dried seaweed for Yong Tau Foo is good for fishes. Those non-salted ones. My Tangs love them. :)B)

It is cheap at 3 SGD per pack, the tangs gets very fat eating these stuff. I saw their tangs, really fat and healthy.

What blenny is this? I used to have a scooter blenny but I've never seen it grazing the diatom algae on my sandbed. :( Instead, I feed it mysis shrimps.

Don't worry, the algae blenny will not stop cleaning even if you feed it spirulina.

You can also buy marcoalgae for it to feed on.

Anyone has any idea what kind of macro algae is the most "popular" among algae blennies? I am facing the same "starving" problem.
