what skimmer you using?

i've got my 2ft tank in my room, with a 2ft sump. running a macro as350. finding it a little too noisy, have to switch it off before i sleep.

and in the day, its almost unbearable to study in my room. so those who have a tank in your room, care to share how you do it and what skimmer youusing?

hmmm using a aquamedic

dun have a prob except that the overflow is louder

its pretty quiet during operation,

i believe theres some kind of intake regulator that can soften the noise

to be attached at the air intake pipe

maybe it can dampen the noise u have

i used to have a weipro skimmer not too noisy oso

prob its the vibration of the pump dats causin the noise ?

3ft tank in my room, think the ibox is the loudest tho you really get used to the sound of moving water. kinda soothin actually =)

will be using a 8" beckett in a few weeks time. will let u know how katrina sounds like in my room

its the pump thats killing me, ont the air intake of my pump, nor is it the overflow.

using the overflow pipe, got sound, but still tolerable, but the pump.... cannot tahan...

well u can change the pump or put some pads below the pump to dampen the vibration

then again my chiller probably drowns all other sounds.. haha

hmm... maybe there's something wrong with my pump? hmm... cleaned it before thou, and its always been so loud, sincei i bought it over from another reefer.

anywhere i can get it "fixed"?
