my tank water is 28

using a Resun Cl650

tank volume 4x2x2

heard that it is recommended for this volume of tank..

any help here would be nice

dont think can spend any more money to upgrade another unit

When they say recommended for "that volume" you've to see how they tested it?

I believe they run the chiller with "that volume" of water then set it to drop to a certain temp within a certain amount of time. This is w/o any head load taken into account.

Your chiller is too weak to support your tank.

Go for a better one.

some pple say their chiller can cool their tank.

some pple with the same chiller say it can't cool their tank.

both tank same net volume.

why? because one tank has lesser heat input than the other.

but only 150W and the chiller cannot support already?

Maybe try to service the chiller.

I was using my Artica 1/4 HP for my 5 X 2 X 2.5 ft (200 gallons) tank.

I had 2 X 150W MH. Running at least 200W of pumps but my chiller was not on all the time.

I seriously think there is a problem with you chiller.

I used Resun CL650 on my 3x2x2.5 tank..pumps included rio 32HF and a eheim 1250 for UV and FR..

It couldnt cool down my tank at all! and I dint even switch on my 4x39W T5!

get a better chiller IMO..resun is not as reliable as some other brands out in the market..

End result: i got a daeil 1/3hp and it was able to chill down much faster.

as for some suggestions of changing the pump for the chiller, i tried! many different pumps and none was effective in aiding the chiller.

Bro.

U may want to invest in an external theromstat. Helped a lot.

Cheers. :)

i placed my chiller near the window and right beside the tank cabinet...

my temp is set to 26deg..but it the thermostat shows 28 deg forever!..and never chills till i off the MH..

could it be the cause of faulty calibration?..

sorry guys as i said..cant invest on a better chiller...

money realy running dry..=(
