I have changed all the water and LR, so currently running abt a week,,, intending to run for another mth or so,,, during this time.. am i suppose to on any light?? and is there additives i need to add for the LR or the water???? You on your light as per how you wanted the lights to on with fishes/reef. It is not necessary to add any stuff in the tank during cycle. But if you add also no harm. Yep, on the light does make your brown algae grow. It will grow faster if you have a redder spectrum of lights (i.e boom). Otherwise blueer spectrum coraline will grow. If your lights are regular FL then diatom will definite infest the tank. Your tank can never be forever in the dark, either you brave the diatom now without fish or it will still bug you later. calcium or kalkwassar? you only have LR/sand rite? Dun think you need it now. I will definite go without those for now. I will definite go without those for now. ok,,,, tink i will just on the blue light for the moment... currently i have 2 sets of 6 ft PL light.
