Am thinking of getting a small angel for my tank.

am thinking between the flame and the coral beauty(cos its easy to keep).

any suggestions. running a two feet tank. with only a yellow watchman.

would like something that stands out, and has a not too difficult diet and doesn't nip my corals. hehe...

really wanted a yellow tang, get a really tiny one...

but supposedly they are less hardy and harder to keep, and angels are easier....

but angels have a tendency not to be reef safe unlike a yellow tang right? =(

arghh.. messy messy...

I think its a sweeping statement to say that tangs are harder too keep then angel....or angels are harder to keep then tang....

for example:

- is yellow tang harder to keep then a grey belly regal angel?

- or is a flame angel harder to keep then an AT?

seriously, it boils down to the specific species....and of course your luck/skills in picking the correct fish

bros... you all make me even more blur liaoz...

so bro tineng, what are the answers to your 2 qns. hehe.. or rather, what is the general perceived answer to your two qns?? =)

dleecool - no lohz, if water perimeter is good, all fish will survive and thrive, whether or not a fish is hardy depends on the fish.... hardy fish can take slightly lousier water perimeters right? =)

how how?? *scratch head*

IMO, depending on which "model" :lol: Angels and Tangs you looking at, most Zebrasomas are generally quite hardy fishes as for Pygmy Angels, there are many "models". Challenging ones will be , for example, Potteri and Lemon Peel and the easier ones will be Flame and Rusty. Do research on the types of fishes that you would like to keep and you will find countless of info such as level of difficulty to keep, characteristics, diet, e.t.c., this will help you in your selection.

Basic thing is to get your water parameters right as well as the environment of your tank (i.e. size of tank vs size of fishes, number of fishes, rockscape e.t.c) and diet. The rest will depend on external factors like how the fishes are caught and shipped. Finally, LUCK!!!!

wah... can dun talk in scientific names... pulez.. hehe.. i catch no ball...

hmm.. give me your two cents =))

:huh: Ha, ya see u need to do ya 'homework' first b4 ya start introducing fishes into ya tank tat u do not know about...& u regret when they create 'havocs' ! :evil:

Well Centropyge species is just one of the sub genera families of ANGELS (Pomacanthidae) family & they are not truly reef-safe.

Genera of Pomacanthidae includes:

* Apolemichthys

* Genicanthus

* Centropyge

* Holacanthus

* Chaetodonoplus

* Pomacanthus

* Pygoplites

Ya should go for the genus Genicanthus family if ya are keeping a mixed reef tank.
