Would it be possible to remove ich by getting one of Henry's pellet eating cleaner wrasses?

Cleaner wrases get whitespot themselves. They do not eat whitespot.

And its reef safe.

At least, for my tank.

Outbreak a month ago wiped out my Flame Angel, Coral Beauty, Tomato Clown & 2 Anthias.

All of them were on daily frozen mysis & brineshrimp, soaked in garlic juice.

My Yellow Tang and Blue Damsels also got the dreaded ich.

Then Henry of MLH introduced me to Octozin from Waterlife.

Henry did not carry stock of Octozin, but he was kind & selfless enough to inform that I could get it from C328.

Its been a week now, after I used Octozin.

Yellow Tang & damsels have been saved - ich seems totally gone; no more disappearing on one day, then reappearing the next day in multiples.

All my LPS seems blooming, as always.

Cleaner shrimp & Boxer shrimp are scuttling around & eating, as per normal.

Trochus snails (aka Turbo snails) are gliding along, cleaning the tank as usual.

Even the tiny beneficial copepods on the glass, do not seem to be affected.

Gonna wait for 5 more weeks, just to be safe, before buying livestock again.

Yes. Octozin works. If you have a big tank it would be more economical to buy the big bottle which has around 100 tablets or 200. I can't really remember.

After i lower the salinity to (1.009)for about a month my fish now is no sign of ich

and now i add another 1 fish for about 1 weeks liao,it also look healthy also

my friend told me to raise up the salinity to (1.019)back.but i afraid my fish will start sick again.

If i dont raise up to 0.019 for a long time (I mean leave it like that )Anything will happen to my fish???

Can any PRO can advice???

Sorry to hear that bro,

I read that you should wait for about 6 months; since you are not doing any steps to get rid the ich.

You can try nemo22 method by slowly reducing your salinity if you do not have corals.

Or try some of the recommended medication on this forum.

My tank also got ich; but my fish does not die due to ich; The ich went away after a few days on those fishes.

Now my old fishes do not have ich; however, some new fish I introduce does not have ich while some will get the ich after a couple of days.

I am currently doing water change for both Sat and Sun for about 30% of the total volume.

i never do any medication on my tank cos i still got coral but i use de method by bringing down de sg slowly as wat nemo22 do. it work.some of my old (strong) fish look ok. i got feedback tats don add any fish and coral until tank look healthly. any comment on tis

do not lower ur sg to 1.009 if u gt corals. ur fish will be okie but corals will uplorry.

The following are my methods 1) Reduce salinity from 1.026 to 1.020 2) use Ozone doage at 0.25 - 0.5 mg for 12 hrs per day . 3) Maintain ORP at 350 - 420 for 5 days.4) WC at 50 % after 5 days.. my 3 Tangs were doing great after the 6 day. Hi, I just wonder why no one mention UV sterilizer ? Does it helps to kill the parasites or could it be use for preventive measure?

Uv Only kills whichever passes thru the light and not those still in your tank

Spoke to ah bac today on ich. He said need to restart the tank but removing fish and coral from main tank. Use lots lots of normal salt with water to soak the tanks filter and sump, live rock and sand for 1 day. Under highest salt concentration, all will die. Just need to fill fully with salt water but live rock can put in the pail. Use a spong and wash the side of the tank. This way, all parasite will be completely removed. Going forward just make sure quarentee any new fish for 2 weeks

No sure about the theory of utilizing normal salt... Mt cost saving go forward method would be using fresh water.. Fill it to the brim... For 1 week..

It's shares the theory of freshwater dip... QT your fishes with Paraguard.. It's works for me.. Remember to QT for at least 3 weeks

no need to restart tank. just leave your tank fallow for about a month preferably longer. The ich parasite cannot live wouthout a fish host.

uv sterilizer only kills the ich that passes through it. problem is that not all ich in tank will pass though it.

Do the following.

1) Check your water parameters. If it's not normal, change water.

2) Stop adding fish. Adding too many fish at once can cause an overwhelming outbreak as more fishes have less resistance to the strain of ich in your tank. The more vulnerable hosts for ich, the more quickly ich can populate and reach a level which can kill your fishes. If you do not practice good quarantine, your best bet is only add a fish every 2 weeks, although I would opt for 1 fish a month. This gives the new fish to build immunity. Fishes that have built resistance to ich can "disarm" ich parasites when the parasites attach to them. You need to have a balance. Immune fishes way more than non-immune fishes.

3) Add It's Clear. Natural water clarifier that improves water quality and does bind to ich. Battles Ich the natural way. This is NOT medication, it's a natural biodegradable polymer called chitosan.

4) Feed medicated food like Dr G's Anti-parasitic RX. This contains quinine which is very effective with common parasites like ich, velvet, brook, etc. This treats your fish and not your entire tank, does not wreck havoc to your tank biological filter.

5) Stop adding fish till symptoms subside.

6) Do not add medication to your tank.

i change water weekly,It is after getting the yellow tang i notice it got white spots and recently start to rub against the sand.Have started to add garlic juice into its pellets in the hope can control.May i know where to get Dr G's Anti-parasitic RX??

Dr G's Anti-parasitic RX ... can get from Iwarna

I have also used Kent Marine non copper additives and it works. Go to Ah Beng, I got mine from them... its 2 bottles of Kent Marine... RX-P and one more bottle i cant remember.
