Hi guys,

got a question. I am currently upgrading to a 5ftx2ftx21/2ft tank. Wondering if 2x150w MH + 2xPL is sufficient for a tank of this size especially for clams and maybe SPS? Also, is it possible to reuse the sand from the DSB?

For a tank so big...you should go for 2-3 400W MH bulbs. 2X150W would be too little..unless you are only intending to have sps and clams on '2 mountains' at opposite ends of your tank?

General guideline for MH is each lamp for 2ftx2ft area. So its better to get tank length in 2 ft, 4ft, 6ft etc

For a tank of 5', I'll recommend minimum three 250W MH because there's the depth to consider too.
