I am not that sure with the UV but as for CO2, you'll only need it for a calcium reactor.

As you pump CO2 into a calcium reactor, it becomes carbonic acid which reacts with the CaCO3 media to produce CaHCO3 or calcium hydrogencarbonate. Hope that helps :lol:
