What pump to use???

Any bro can recommend me....i have a tank with IOS and i need put a return pump to pump out the water....the size is quite narrow. About 12 cm by 10 cm...

Could any bro help me?? Which brand is good, model no. and not too hot...

calculate your tank volume and x least 10. this will be your return pump flow rate and than you look out for it sizes and power consumption that suitable for your set-up

my tank is 2ft by 2ft by 1.5ft....

so is about 160 litres.....times 10 = 1600 L/hr???

do i need to take into account of e height of e tank??

e.g. for derek0925 case, he needs a 1600l/hr return pump.

but if e tank height is 1.5m, he may need to buy a pump

of at least 2400l/hr......am i right???

tank size: 2 x 1 x 1.5ft, ard 18gallons, height ard 1.5m

my return pump 2400l/hr tees off to my resun fbf1000 w/ a valve control,

goes to my chiller then to e tank.

roger, your return pump is more than enough for your tank size. the head loss is not only at the height, but your tee to your FR and chiller. so, at the outlet, the flow rate will be less than 1800 if you are using eheim pump
