Make sure the gradient only applies to the border of your tank and not on the floor the tank is sitting on. The designer can come up with one thing and the foreman/worker might have another idea (personal experience). Must be very firm on this.

I was tinking to ask the tank maker to make the wooden stand also slant to one side to compensate the "slantiness" .... can or not har??

It wont be perfect and as what you expect. Unless use laser to do that. But even so, i think is difficult to have the wood as same gradient as the floor.

Forget about the gradient. It will have an impact on your floor loading. A kerb will do, any water dripping will be contain there. Just use a mop or cloth to clean up.

Maybe if you are lazy to clean up. Put some fishes there also can.

Anyway, the kerb will be surrounding the tank stand, and the facade ( artificial wall ) will be built of the kerb itself.... So that any water oveflowing from the main tank or sump will be contained in the "catchment" area....

Den I'll be having sensors inside this area to sound and alarm when flooding occurs...

Potentially, you going to have 3 x MX100 running? Have you actually heard how an MX100 sound like when running? Personally, I couldnt even stand my single mx70 pump running.

And have you considered your bill for running 3xMX100

Maybe you should think of using smaller pumps for returns instead

BH is right... currently running MX-100 on my beckett... but in order to achieve the high turnover, dun have much choice leh... other pumps also power consumption high... understand there is gonna be noise... but dunno how 3xMX100 will sound...

Anyone using Sequence can advise on the sound level??

Trust me, DSB is hard to maintain

I had to grow my own infauna and finally gave up because I have lots of schoolwork and not enough time to grow them anymore

But my DSB kept my nitrates real low though

You need creatures to burrow into the depths of sand so as to keep the oxygen levels at anoxic levels.

I grew pods, bristleworms, microstars and flatworms as my main infauna and recharge every month

next to impossible to have totally silent reef tank, so it depends on your tolerance level.

Try the Red dragon.

The rest of the pump all have fan running so those are the sources of noise.

Yep, I noticed a certain species of white colour flatworms actually burrow into the sand so I might as well culture them too.

Haven't seen one after I removed my sandbed
